Happy Shopping :D
Oh mall shopping. How I love thee! Alright, so I wasn't necessarily shopping in the usual sense, but rather more along the lines of "window shopping" or "display shopping". It's the best way to see what new products are available in stores! Yes online shopping is amazing, but some products you need to experience in person such as perfumes, body washes, and candles. Now, I'll be 100% honest here and tell you I favor scents that lean towards the vanilla/baked goods scents. While my plan was to smell and judge EVERY candle in the store, sadly, didn't have the, nor did I have the sinus power, so instead I tried to pick my favorites and my "hatevorites" from the display areas.
Where, Oh Where Have ALL the Fall Scented Candles Gone?
When I first wondered into Bath & Body Works I was surprised to find that the BIG display at the front of the store was Christmas/Winter themed! Aren't we still in October? Geesh! Not a hint of Fall scented candles in site.
What Are the new CAMP Winter Candle Scents?
Let me start off by saying, this was the first time I've ever ventured out into the world with the intent of taking pictures for a blog post. I literally forgot that I was there for a specific reason, and not just browsing the store like usual! Sadly, I didn't get pictures of each and every new winter candle, but I got quite a few! (Forgive me ya'll, I'm still new to this blogging stuff. hehe)
1. Frosted Cranberry
The beautiful red glass is what initially caught my eye, and second was the homage to Christmas Vacation on the label. (I LOVE that movie) But anyway, how did "Frosted Cranberry" 3 wick Bath and Body Work winter themed candle smell? In my honest opinion Frosted Cranberry was just Meh.
There was an overwhelming aroma of cranberry, with a splash of musky Christmas tree. The only way to accurately describe it would be to envision stepping into an old, damp, wooden, cabin in the middle of nowhere during the dead of winter, and someone had just erected an evergreen Christmas tree in the living room and lit a rather strong cranberry scented candle nearby in the kitchen. The aromas were very distinct and somehow separated in my nose. Overall, it was a decent scent. Not my favorite, but definite not the worst!

2. Fresh Balsam
As you can see from the photo, Fresh Balsam was NOT a favorite. I had to nervously scroll through my photos and PRAY that I took a picture of this candle. Luckily, I found one and no, It's not the prettiest composition in the world, but hey, it get's the job done! (lol) As far as how this candle scent smelled, the only thing that came to my mind was green grass, and allergies. I give this candle a 2/10.

3. Hot Cocoa & Creme
Alright ya'll, now you know how much I love 'food themed' scents and this candle was no exception. It smelled SO GOOD you guys. It actually smelled like hot cocoa and creme. You know how sometimes you get a "hint", or an "essence" of what a certain scent is SUPPOSED to be, but it just falls flat? Well this candle came to play! It did not disappoint! Also, can we just take a second to appreciate the lids of these particular candles? How gorgeous are they? Whoever designed this particular line really paid attention to detail and I definitely appreciate that.

4. Campfire Donut
HOW can you be mad at campfires and donuts? It certainly had a smokey aroma that briefly reminded me of a campfire, but the so-called "donuts" more or less just smelled like vanilla! Again, I love food themed scents so this candle is a total WIN for me. Campfire Donut is definitely in my top 3! It's a MUST HAVE for winter!

5. Spiced Apple Toddy
I got SO distracted by the magic of Bath & Body Works that I forgot to take pictures of the certain candles I was reviewing. (It happens! haha) The label for this particular candle is very cute! It features an adorable dear, with large brown antlers, sporting a red striped beanie. (I'm sure exactly what dears in beanies have to do with spiced apple toddy's, but ok) I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever had a spiced apple toddy so I don't have a smell to compare it to! Despite my lack of scent knowledge this candle had a lovely overtone of cinnamon, which I LOVED and as far as apples go, I totally forgot they were apart of this aroma bouquet. If you want something to fill your home with the essence of Christmas, I would say this candle is IT.

In the excitement of smelling EVERYTHING within the walls of Bath & Body Works, I forgot to get a photo of this particular candle! I'm sorry ya'll! However if you visit their website, here, you'll see frosted white candle with an adorable black bear wearing a red flannel scarf. Again, my bad! Luckily I was able to sample the Flannel candle though. So that's something (lol)
Flannel had a nice masculine scent, while somehow managing to be subtle. There was a comforting musky smell that instantly relaxed me. I struggled to identify the other scents, because apparently my nose palette isn't very advanced. When I got home, I looked on the Bath and Body Works website and was amazed to I learned the smells I couldn't identified were orange peel and patchouli oil. Overall a decent scent!

The first thought I had when reaching for this candle was "What the heck does Winter smell like exactly?" My mind produced aromas of musky evergreen trees, candy canes, and gingerbread. However, when I took the beautiful copper lid off of the frosted glass bottom and inhaled. What met my nose was NOT a fragrance I was expecting! Apparently Bath & Body Works and I don't agree on what "winter" is supposed to smell like, but...since it IS the "Camp Winter" collection, I guess they're going for more of an Earthy, natural, outdoorsy, scent, winter-y smell. (Sigh) There was undoubtedly a strong aroma of pine-spruce (Christmas tree) mixed with what I think was a mixture of cranberries? Images of my childhood at Christmas time ran through my head as I took a few long sniffs. Now, let me just say that even though this candle has NO food ingredients, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I'd totally buy it for myself!

Do you have the NEED? The need for everything pumpkin spice? If you do, then you've come to the right place! I've scoured the internet locating the very best of what I thought represented 'Pumpkin Spice' everything. I was pleased with the large amount of apparel and home decor themed items, but I was left totally underwhelmed in the beauty department! Can you believe that? How is that even possible? It's like makeup companies totally forgot to hop on this delicious bandwagon! I know I'd for one SNATCH UP an eye shadow or lipstick called pumpkin spice in a freakin' heartbeat! They done messed up a niche opportunity!!! (Get it nice as in N-I-C-E, but also niche...because it's such a small specialized market? hehe. Ok I'm done...)
I've also included two items that I personally designed down below. I have FINALLY opened a Zazzle store, which you can visit here; https://www.zazzle.com/rixxi_merchandise - and I'm beyond excited about it because I'm VERY passionate about design. So please be sure to visit my Zazzle store and tell me what you think! If you're done listening to me ramble simply scroll down and check out the goodies!!
The 'Pumpkin Spice is Life' graphic is hand drawn by me and the pumpkins surrounded it are free clip art. I will be adding new designs/products every week, so be sure to check the store regularly! =D
First of all, Pumpkin Spice sneakers?? Have I lost my mind? The answer is yes, probably! (haha) I designed these bad boys for my Zazzle store. I think shoes were the only thing I could find besides beauty products that weren't bestowed with the magic of pumpkin spice. I designed something you never knew you wanted. You're welcome! :P
Hey ya'll! I've finally got my Zazzle store up and running. It's been quite a process, but it's getting there! I'll be posting products I've made pretty soon. In the mean time here's a taste of what to expect!
Hope you like it!
